Splash Down at Adventure Island for Cool Summer Fun:

Conveniently located next door to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Adventure Island boasts 30 acres of thrilling water rides in an inviting, family-friendly setting loaded with Key West character and tropical trappings.

Guests young and old will enjoy a mix of breathtaking water slides, corkscrew rides, waterfalls and a wave pool along with a children’s water playground. Plenty of outdoor cafes offer dining opportunities and there is even a white-sand volleyball complex.

The park’s signature rides include the Caribbean Corkscrew, 230 feet of twisting, intertwined translucent tubing culminating in a 47-foot decelerator lane; the Gulf Scream, a 210-foot body slide which deposits thrill-seekers, traveling at speeds in excess of 25 miles per hour, into a waiting pool; and Riptide, a 55-foot high, four-lane mat slide that pits competitive riders against one another and features a hairpin turn and steep plunge.

Other rides include:

  • Aruba Tuba
  • Calypso Coaster
  • Everglides
  • Key West Rapids
  • Runaway Rapids
  • Wahoo Run
  • Water Moccasin

Other park attractions include a 17,000-square foot wave pool known as Endless Surf that generates waves up to five feet high; Rambling Bayou, a relaxing tube ride that transports guests through a tropical rainforest; and for small children, Fabian’s Funport, a play area with a scaled-down wave pool, water jets and a water-friendly gym.

When guests work up an appetite, they can choose from a number of dining opportunities. Surfside Café serves up pizza, hot dogs, grilled chicken and salads. For hamburgers, chicken strips, fajita sandwiches, check out Mango Joe’s. Several locations throughout the park serve ice cream and waffle cones, funnel cakes, cotton candy, cold drinks and popcorn. Anheuser-Busch beverages can be enjoyed with a nacho platter and pretzels at Bayou Beach Club.
