The Man Who Came to Dinner
    What: The classic Kaufman-Hart comedy tells the story of an acid-tongued theater critic who is forced to stay in a couple's home, and all the havoc that occurs because of this unwanted guest.
    Where: Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill
    When: Jan. 8 through 25
    Showtimes: Performances are Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinees are Sunday, 2 p.m.

Hillsborough

Jobsite Theater presents Picasso at the Lapin Agile
    What: Steve Martin’s off-Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904. In his first comedy for the stage, Martin plays fast and loose with fact, fame and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century's achievements and prospects as well as other fanciful topics with infectious dizziness.
    Where: Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Shimberg Playhouse, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa
    When: Jan. 8 through 31
    Showtimes: Performances are Thursday through Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinees are Sunday, 4 p.m. There also will be a performance on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 8 p.m. and a second performance on Saturday, Jan. 31, 10 p.m.
Brian Regan
Arnez J. and Friends Comedy Show
    What: Business First Entertainment presents Arnez J. & Friends. Arnez J. has been on B.E.T.'s Comic View for years and has also appeared in movies.

    When: Friday, Jan. 16, 8 p.m.
David Copperfield presents An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion
    What: David Copperfield, the undisputed king of the conjurers, returns to TBPAC with a mind-bending array of interactive illusions.
    Where: Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Carol Morsani Hall, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa
    When: Sunday, Jan. 18, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Riverdance – Farewell Performances
    What: Riverdance, the thunderous celebration of Irish music, song and dance that has tapped its way onto the world stage trilling millions of people around the globe, will play eight Farewell Performances at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
    Where: Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Carol Morsani Hall, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa
    When: Jan. 20 through 25
    Showtimes: Performances are Tuesday through Sunday, 7:30 p.m. Matinees are Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.

The Music Man
    What: An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize.
    Where: Manatee Players, 102 12th St. W., Bradenton
    When: Evening performances are Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinees are Sunday, 2 p.m.
    Cost: $25 adults, $11 students

Pasco

My Husband’s Wild Desires Almost Drove Me Mad
    What:: Comedy.
    Where: Richey Suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey
    When: Jan. 16 through Feb. 1
    Showtimes: Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 2:30 p.m.

  • King Hedley II

    • What: The death of Aunt Ester, a gamble to peddle refrigerators, a garden of seeds and a final act of retribution are the threads that make up the tapestry of August Wilson's 1980s installment in the author's renowned cycle of plays.
      Where: American Stage Theatre, 211 Third St. S., St. Petersburg
      When: Jan. 21 through Feb. 15
      Showtimes: Performances are Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30; and Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinees are Saturday and Sunday, 3 p.m.
  • Thom Pain

    • What: Part of American Stage’s After Hours series, this wry monologue by Will Eno was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize. In it, an ordinary man, Thom Pain, muses on childhood, yearning, disappointment and loss. Cataloguing the eternal agonies of the human condition, Pain draws his audience into his last-ditch plea for empathy and enlightenment. Intended for mature audiences only.
      Where: American Stage Theatre, 211 Third St. S., St. Petersburg
      When: Jan. 26 through Feb. 17
      Showtimes: Performances will be Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, 7 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays, 11:30 p.m.
    Bermuda Avenue Triangle
      What: A comedy by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, directed by Robin New, the story centers on the adventures of a Jewish widow and an Italian widow whose successful daughters move them to Las Vegas, where they share a retirement village condo.
      Where: Early Bird Dinner Theatre, 200 S. McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater
      When: Through Feb. 22
      Showtimes: Seating begins at 4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. Matinee seating begins at 11 a.m., Thursday and Saturday.
