According to the event organizers, "This shopping event features more than 135 specialty merchants from across the country offering unique gift items. Holiday Gift Market includes merchants selling everything from clothing, jewelry, and handbags to food, art and children's items."
This three day shopping event raises money for the Junior League of Tampa and the funds raised, "through the Holiday Gift Market will support the League's programs and community projects in the areas of foster care, literacy and education, and children's basic needs."
The 2012 event has already passed but the Junior League of Tampa is already preparing for the 2013 Holiday Gift Market. The 2013 event is scheduled for November 8-10, 2013. The Holiday Gift Market is traditionally held at the Florida State Fairgrounds with a $6 admission.
"Shopapalooza, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, will have 'Black Friday' type deals from over 100 independently owned shops and vendors. There will be food, music, entertainment, prizes, surprises and awesome shops, all locally owned and operated."
The event also will feature a section for kids "complete with face-painting, crafts, music, dance and a bouncy house."
Shopapalooza is organized by LocalShops1 and is presented by the City of St. Pete and the St. Petersburg Chamber.
The 2012 event will be held Saturday, November, 17, 2012 at South Straub Park in St. Petersburg, Fla. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
The 'Tis the Season Holiday Market and Expo is presented by the Tampa Bay Times newspaper. This year's event will be held at the Coliseum located at 535 4th Avenue in St. Petersburg, Fla. The two day event runs Saturday, November, 17, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, November, 18, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission and parking for the 'Tis the Season Holiday Market and Expo are both free. The event will feature exhibits, specialty boutique and shoppes and there you'll find "jewelry, home and holiday decorations, candles, chocolates and much more. Enjoy strolling musicians playing holiday tunes and take in the sights and sounds of this very special time of the year."
The Working Women of Tampa Bay hosts an annual Think Pink Holiday Shopping Boutique as its answer to Black Friday. Their third annual shopping event will be held Wednesday, November, 28, 2012 at Ruth Eckerd Hall located at 1111 North McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, Fla. from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for members of Working Women of Tampa Bay and $10 for non-members.
The Think Pink Holiday Shopping Boutique supports local women-owned businesses and will feature Black Friday deals, food samples, mini spa treatments, makeup applications and more. The first 150 paid guests who come through the door will receive a signature shopping bag. Registration online in advance is highly recommended.
