June's Tampa concert lineup will feature a wide variety of musical acts at area venues large and small.
Don’t miss the fun when the Suncoast Blues Society hosts its 11th Anniversary Party on Saturday, June 11, at Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
Dallas native Darrell Nulisch will headline the event. A founding member of Black Top Records’ Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, Nulisch also has jammed with Mike Morgan and the Crawl and Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters. Of course, that was all before the spark that ignited his own band, Texas Heat, in 1990.
Nulisch’s recent Severn Records release, I Like It That Way, showcases the bluesman’s natural soul on infectious numbers like “You Tore My Playhouse Down,” “Getaway Place” and covers of Otis Redding’s “Trick Or Treat” and B.B. King’s “Worried Blues.”
The Charlie Morris Band will open the show. The party also will feature a silent auction to benefit the society’s community service programs, the Diamond Teeth Mary Fund and Rock Bottom scholarships.
