Date Ideas Part 4

By , About.com Guide

Looking for something to do for date night but not quite sure what to do? You've come to the right place. This is part four of a series of articles filled with date ideas for couples in the Tampa Bay area.

1. Visit the Dali

The new Salvador Dali museum opened at 1 Dali Boulevard in St. Petersburg, Fla on on 1-11-11 eight blocks from its former location. The museum boasts the largest Dali collection outside of Spain including 2,140 pieces of Dali's work, 96 oil paintings and eight master works that measure over 5'. Inside there is also a cafe. According to the museum, “Café Gala is designed to create an educational as well as culinary experience by introducing visitors to Spanish food and history.” It's the perfect spot for you and your honey to discuss the pieces in the museum over some tapas and wine. Tapas plates are $5 and $6 and the wine runs $6 to $9 a glass.

2. Enjoy a Steak at Bern's

For a place that is rich with history and rich with food and wine quality, make a date to dine at Bern's. Bern’s opened its doors in 1956 and the goal was to serve quality food with the best service. Today, the restaurant is busier than ever and the quality of food and service is just as important as it was when the business first started. Entrees are $29 and up per person. On a budget? Consider stopping by just for dessert. The dessert room is a completely separate dining experience upstairs and each table is held within its own wine cask creating a romantic feel to say the least.

3. Go Back to School for Dinner

The University of South Florida campus is huge and filled with places to eat. A fun idea might be to walk around the campus and see what there is to see. Then, stop to eat at the Beef O' Brady's in the new Marshall Center. After dinner catch a game at one of the stadiums. Soccer, baseball and basketball are just a few of the sports played on campus.

4. Bet it All at Seminole Hard Rock Casino!

Bet it all on the tables at Seminole Hard Rock Casino and then get it all back by dining at the Fresh Harvest all you can eat buffet. Now, obviously I don't actually recommend betting everything you have at the casino. However, I do strongly suggest you try the Fresh Harvest buffet. With more than five dining stations serving everything from seafood to pizza to flank steak, you can be assured that you will find something good to eat there. Before you head upstairs to the restaurant be sure to sign up for a Player's Club card to save some coin on your meal. To save even more money, go for lunch instead of dinner and on a weekday instead of the weekend.

5. Sink or Swim at The Roundup

Several bars in Tampa offer a special drink night called "Sink or Swim". For a flat fee you can indulge in as much wine, beer and cocktails as you can handle. One place that features this is The Roundup. Every Saturday is "Sink or Swim Saturday". There is a $12 cover and after the cover charge everyone drinks free all night long from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Before you start drinking though, stop by from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for their free beginner line dance classes.
