Armani's Restaurant Filetto del Vitello

More Than Photographs

The Bottom Line

Armani's is known for its authentic and delicious Northern Italian cuisine, sophisticated dining setting and its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Tampa Bay.

Pros

  • The antipasto bar is a great way to try several items at once.
  • Smaller dinner portions are available for children.
  • Valet parking is complementary.

Cons

  • Dining without reservations could leave you waiting a while for a table.
  • Be sure to get a window seat because the view facing into the restaurant is too plain.

Guide Review – Armani's

While waiting for your table spend a little time in the cocktail lounge. Be sure to dine on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening so that you can enjoy live piano music with your pre-dinner drinks. If you visit between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. you can enjoy many wines, cocktails and antipasto at the happy hour pricing of $7. The restaurant offers more than 140 wines, champagnes and ports to choose from in addition to their vast selection of cordials and spirits.

Once you make it into the dining room, forego the appetizers on the menu and head straight for the antipasto bar. “Armani’s signature antipasto bar allows guests to create their own first course from a selection of more than 30 items and offers fresh made-to-order Caesar salads.” The antipasto bar is a great way to try new things and old favorites all at once and pretty much everything at the bar is delicious! Don’t eat too much though because you must make sure you save room for your meal.

My strongest recommendation for your entrée is the Filetto del Vitello. This meal features grilled veal tenderloin, lobster and crab gratin and angel hair pasta tossed with roasted garlic oil and fresh herbs. Even if you’re full it will be hard to keep from stuffing yourself because it tastes so good you won’t want it to end. If pasta is more your style I suggest you consider the Cannelloni di Vitello. Available as an appetizer or as an entrée, this delicious concoction features ground veal, spinach, Parmesan, ricotta and a tomato cream sauce.

Other options for dinner include salmon, Ossobuco, chicken, several pasta dishes, salads and the Presidential Dinner which is a seven course dinner paired with wines. Keep in mind that many of the appetizers are available as entrees.

Take your time eating your meal so that your stomach can prepare itself for dessert. Not indulging in the dessert at Armani’s should be considered a crime! From delicious gelato made from scratch to tiramisu to cheesecake, there are plenty of options to choose from and they are different every time you dine. My favorite dessert was the gelato.
