4. A Silent Film 1/25/13A Silent Film will perform with special guests Carousel and Goodnight Neverland at The Local 662 on Friday, January, 25, 2013. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10. The Local 662 is located at 662 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Gasparilla Invasion begins at 11:30 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. The Jose Gasparilla sets sail at the south end of Hillsborough Bay at 11:30 a.m. At 2 p.m. the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates begins at Bay to Bay Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard. It continues along Bayshore Boulevard to Brorein Street, turns east on Brorein Street, then north on Ashley Drive. The parade ends at Cass Street and Ashley Drive. Admission is free for both events unless you want reserved seating on the bleachers. See site for details.
Comedian Ron “Tater Salad” White, best known as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy phenomenon, returns to Ruth Eckerd Hall. The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets begin at $48.75. Ruth Eckerd Hall is located at 1111 North McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater.
The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce has established a flagship event that celebrates everything that makes the Dade City area unique, while encouraging visitors to participate in the fun! Since the nearby town of St. Joseph was already known as the Kumquat Capital of the World, the Chamber of Commerce decided that this little fruit with a funny name could be the focus of an annual festival.
