UT - The University of Tampa is a comprehensive, private university located on approximately 100 acres of riverfront land in the heart of downtown Tampa which offers more than 120 majors, minors and pre-professional programs.

Although this is the bare bones for now with just school calendars and sports links, I hope for it to ultimately be a true resource guide to things to do and see in and around Tampa Bay.

The University of South Florida, located in Tampa, is one of the nation's top public research universities, offering 219 degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate, specialty and doctoral levels.

Established in 1927, St. Petersburg College has grown from a small community college to a major educational establishment offering two-year and four-year degrees at 10 learning sites scattered throughout Pinellas County.

Consisting of 209 schools grades K-12, the Hillsborough County school district also includes early childhood education, adult education, four career centers as well as charter and magnet schools. The web site provides a wealth of information including school board agenda, calendars, choice options and employment information.

The seventh largest school system in Florida, Pinellas County Schools provides education for more than 150,000 students from kindergarton through 12th grade and includes 82 elementary schools, 24 middle schools and 17 high schools as well as five exceptional schools and four centers, four secondary schools, 27 alternative education centers and six charter schools.

With more than 42,000 students and over 7,000 employees, the Manatee County School District seeks to inspire its students with a passion for learning.

Sarasota County Schools serves more than 40,000 children in over 50 school facilities and is the largest employer in the county.
