1. Lowry Park Zoo

Details: The Lowry Park Zoo hosts more than 1,500 animals on 56 acres of lush natural habitats and is open every day except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Guests get free admission the day of their birthday with proof. Tickets are $18.95 for children 3-11 and $23.95 for adults. Although food is not permitted here, you can get a stamp on your hand and head out to the surrounding park for a family picnic. Be sure to keep an eye on the events calendar for $5 admission days and free days at the zoo.

2. Busch Gardens

Details: Adult admission is $77.99 plus tax. Children ages 3 to 9 are $69.99 plus tax. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Shows like Sesame Street presents “Lights, Camera, Imagination!”, “Pirates 4-D”, and “Critter Castaways” will keep the whole family entertained. While rides like SheiKra, Kumba, Montu, Cheetah Chase and the Congo River Rapids will thrill them between shows. Water rides will keep you cool and the many different restaurants around the park will keep your tummy full.

3. Adventure Island

Details: Admission is $42.99 for adults, $38.99 for children 3 to 9 and free for children 2 and younger. This park features more than 10 water rides as well as pools for frolicking and playing. Adventure Island offers a soothing Key West atmosphere and has outdoor cafes, picnic and sunbathing areas, gift shops and a championship sand volleyball complex for hours of fun in the sun. Grab a float and float around the park in the lazy river.

4. Glazer Children's Museum

Details: Children under 1 are free, children are $9.50, adults are $15 and Military & Seniors are $12.50. Kids get to pilot a cruise ship, build a noodle sculpture, design a city, fly an airplane, paint with light, slide down a fireman’s pole and so much more. There are more than 170 fun and challenging ‘interactivities’ in 12 themed areas. Included with admission price are programs such as story time, arts and crafts and fitness activities designed to get you moving. Themes change often so there is always something new to experience.

5. Mosi

Details: Adults 13-59 are $20.95, seniors 60 and up are $18.95 and children are $16.95. At the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) visitors can learn about science, brave extreme weather conditions inside, harness themselves onto a bicycle along a 98-foot-long steel cable, suspended 30 feet above ground, challenge their sense of adventure by walking on the SkyTrail Ropes Course, view multiple kinds of free-flying butterflies and more. Mosi also has an IMAX theater featuring educational films and new releases for an additional fee. Outside of the museum is a nature trail and a butterfly garden.
