The Tampa Theatre will host its annual Oscars Watch Party Sunday, February 26, 2012. Oscar Night® America Tampa Bay is an annual charity event hosted at the Theatre with a live broadcast of the Academy Awards.
At 6:30 p.m. guests will be invited to enjoy red carpet festivities and a reception complete with a limo ride around the building and a walk down the red carpet with paparazzi photographing you along the way and requesting your autograph. You will also be interviewed by Tampa Theatre’s own red carpet hostess “Roan Jivers”. For one night you can act and feel like one of the stars.
After you get past the flashing lights of the paparazzi and finally walk into the building enjoy samples of food from local restaurants. Tempt yourself with merchandise in the silent auction too.
Be sure to get your popcorn and soda and grab your seat by 8:00 p.m. to enjoy the Live Telecast of the Academy Awards®. Officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Oscar Night® America – Tampa Bay is Tampa’s only benefit supported by the Academy and one of 50 such events nationwide.
All proceeds from the event benefit Tampa Theatre’s artistic and educational programs.
Wondering what to wear? The Tampa Theatre recommends, “Funky Hollywood glitz, movie-themed or movie-inspired costumes, Hollywood glamour, movie star hip casual or whatever. Just be comfortable and have fun!”
