Studio 1212 Fosters A Supportive, Caring Community Of Artists:
When the former students of William Pachner came together to establish Studio 1212 in October 1970, they envisioned an environment in which artists could share ideas rather than compete for attention and admiration.
Today, Studio 1212 is the oldest artist cooperative in the Tampa Bay area. Limited to 30 member, the nonprofit organization is made up of a supportive, professional group of artists who share studio and gallery space. Many current and former members are prominent artists in their respective fields, exhibiting works elsewhere in Florida and both nationally and internationally.
Monthly Critiques
Studio 1212 offers an art critique open to the public on third Tuesdays, 10 a.m. Artists congregate in a amiable, encouraging atmosphere to offer observations, help members and other artist meet artistic challenges and applaud creative endeavors. Artists may bring in one or two unframed, unfinished paintings for a free critique.
Workshops
Workshops are presented throughout the year, open both to members and the public. Subjects may include instruction on the use of watercolor, acrylics, collage or special techniques. Reservations are required and fees to cover costs vary.
Holidays Are For Sharing
Studio 1212 hosts its annual Holidays Are For Sharing show which features art, jewelry, bookmarks, cards and paintings. Proceeds from sales benefit the community.
