      Hillsborough

  • Twice Exposed: Photographic Works and Print Works from the Permanent Collection of the USF Contemporary Art Museum

  • Where: Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 200 N. Tampa St., Tampa
    When: Through Jan. 10
    What: An exhibition which explores the many ways today’s artists manipulate photography into different mediums.
  • Audience & Avatar

  • Where: Contemporary Art Museum at the University of South Florida, 4202 East Fowler Ave., University of South Florida, CAM101, Tampa
    When: Through Dec. 13
    What: This exhibit brings together an international group of artists who explore diverse ways in which video games, game culture, technology and psychology influence participation and representation of the viewer in art.
  • Exhibition to Benefit Lowry Park Zoo

  • Where: Tampa Artist Emporium, 3415 Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa
    When: Through Dec. 31
    What: The exhibition features artwork painted by zoo animals including chimpanzees, orangutans, penguins and elephants. Proceeds will benefit Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.
  • The Natives Are Loose

  • Where: Center Place, 619 Vondeburg Drive, Brandon
    When: Through Dec. 30
    What: Miscellaneous artwork by the artists of the Creative Native Art Gallery will be featured.

      Manatee

  • Crystal Visions

  • Where: ArtCenter Manatee, 209 Ninth St. W., Bradenton
    When: Through Jan. 2
    What: An open, juried all media exhibition

      Pasco

  • Coastal Connections

  • Where: Pasco Arts Council and the Arts Center , 5744 Moog Road, Holiday
    When: Through Dec. 19
    What: Coast Connections features the oil paintings of Arlene Richardson and focuses on the shores and waterways of Florida and New England.

      Pinellas

  • Works on Paper by Henry McBride; Color Woodblock Prints by Various Artists

  • Where: Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs
    When: Through Jan. 4
    What: This McBride exhibition, on loan from the Henry McBride Foundation, includes 31 works on paper created by McBride in the late 19th century, photos and ephemera documenting his career, and a modernist piece by dada artist Marcel Duchamp. The Woodblock Prints exhibition, which spans the period from the 1890s to the 1930s, includes 90 woodblock prints, books and portfolios by artists whose works mastered this challenging medium with individual style.
  • When Gold Blossoms: Indian Jewelry from the Susan L. Beningson Collection

  • Where: Museum of Fine Arts, 255 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg
    When: Through Dec. 28
    What: This exhibition celebrates the beauty and technical craftsman ship of Indian jewelry with more than 150 pieces dating from the 17th through 20th centuries, primarily from South India.
  • Wilfredo Lam in North America

  • Where: Salvador Dali Museum, 1000 Third St. S., St. Petersburg
    When: Through Jan. 11
    What: The exhibit features works by the celebrated 20th century Cuban-born artist.
  • Coming Home

  • Where: Gulf Coast Museum of Art, 12211 Washington Road, Largo
    When: Through Jan. 25
    What: A retrospective exhibition featuring over 30 years of work by Tampa Bay native Christopher Still whose richly symbolic still life, landscape and history paintings reflect themes derived from Florida culture and history.
  • The Impossible Dream

  • Where: Dunedin Fine Arts Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin
    When: Through Dec. 24
    What: The exhibit features works which explore our relationship to the dream world as experienced, imagined or hoped for.

      Sarasota

  • To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum

  • Where: The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, 5401 Bay Shore Road Sarasota
    When: Through Jan. 11
    What: Highlighting the ways in which ancient Egyptians dealt with death, the exhibit showcases more than 100 objects from the Brooklyn Museum’s collections of ancient Egyptian art including mummies, coffins, stone sculpture, gold jewelry and sacred vessels. Also on exhibit: Fashioning Kimono: Art Deco and Modernism in Japan, running Nov. 15 through Feb. 8.
  • Clyde Butcher Exhibition

  • Where: Venice Art Center, 390 S. Nokomis Ave., Venice
    When: Through Dec. 20
    What: Butcher, known for his black and white portraits of remote landscapes filled with elaborate detail and texture, has received numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Nature Photography Association. Works will be on display and will be available for purchase.
