Museum Announces Jazz: The Art of Music Series
Looking for a suave, sophisticated start to your weekends this summer?
The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg recently unveiled its inaugural summer jazz series lineup, which will feature some of the best musicians in the Tampa Bay area on Fridays, 6 to 9 p.m., from June 6 through Aug. 29.
The artists will perform in the glass conservatory as listeners mingle on a terrace overlooking Tampa Bay. The new MFA Café will be open and attendees can enjoy the art in the Hazel Hough Wing.
The lineup is as follows:
- June 6 – Lounge Kitty
- June 13 – The Larry Camp Trio
- June 20 – Smooth Jazz Trio
- June 27 – Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra
- July 11 – Smooth Jazz Trio
- June 18 – Larry Camp Trio
- June 25 – Hot Sun Quartet
- Aug. 1 – Smooth Jazz Trio
- Aug. 8 – Larry Camp Trio
- Aug. 15 – Hot Sun Quartet
- Aug. 22 – Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra
- Aug. 29 – Dixieland Strutters
Cost is $20 a person at the door and will include free gourmet hors d’oeuvres and tickets for two Peroni beers. There also will be a cash bar with creative drink specials.
The museum is at 255 Beach Drive N.E. in St. Petersburg.
