Some residents from Pinellas County will be heading to Orlando to sit on a jury for the trial of Casey Anthony the week of May 16.
Casey Anthony was arrested and indicted for the murder of her daughter Caylee in 2008 and the publicity surrounding the arrest left the lawyer for Anthony fearing any jury chosen in Orlando would be tainted. Because of this fear Pinellas County residents were called in with the hope that 12 jurors and eight alternates would commit to up to eight weeks in Orlando to sit on the jury for the trial.
As of Tuesday, May, 10, another set of potential jurors was dismissed due to discussion of the case. The trial was originally supposed to begin on Monday, May, ninth and only time will tell if the new trial date will stand or be postponed again.
