VAC To Host Clyde Butcher Reception
Jackie Butcher Obendorf will preview a short documentary film about her father, photographer Clyde Butcher, during the opening reception for his exhibition on Friday, Nov. 7, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Venice Art Center, 390 Nokomis Ave. S.
The public is invited to attend this free event.
Clyde Butcher is known for his black and white portraits of remote landscapes filled with elaborate detail and texture. He has received numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Nature Photography Association, and Humanitarian of the Year for 2005 from International University.

All works on display are for sale, along with a selection of his books. The exhibition will continue through Dec. 20. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
