Final Forum on Booker High Renovations Set
The last of three community roundtables designed to explore ideas for the renovation of Booker High School will take place Thursday, Aug. 21, 6 p.m., in the school’s administration building, in the second floor conference room.
Participating in the forum will be Lori White, superintendent of Sarasota schools; and Constance White-Davis, Booker High School principal, along with other Sarasota County Schools officials and school staff members.
The planned renovation is part of a long-range plan to improve school facilities across the county and is scheduled to get under way in September 2009 with an estimated completion date of May 2011. Officials have sought input from students, parents and members of the community and expect to use some of the ideas discussed in the series of forums during the design phase.
Meeting topics include Booker High School programs, campus layout and impacts of the renovation on surrounding neighborhoods.
