Hillsborough Commissioners Seek Applicants to Fill Spots on Advisory Boards, Councils

Hillsborough County Commissioners are currently seeking applicants to appoint to various boards and councils which advise both the commissioners and Hillsborough County staff in specific areas.

According to a press release from the county, open positions are available on the following boards and councils:

• Building Board of Adjustment, Appeals and Examiners, which meets monthly, third Tuesdays, 9 a.m.
• Child Care Licensing Hearing Officers, which meets when requested
• Enterprise Zone Development Agency Board, which meets every other month; at least annually
• Family Child Care Home Advisory Board, which meets quarterly, third Thursdays, 7 p.m.
• Gas Board of Adjustment, Appeals and Examiners, which meets quarterly, third Thursdays, 11 a.m.
• Health Care Advisory Board, which meets monthly, third Thursdays, 3 p.m.
• Health Council of West Central Florida Inc., which meets every other month, second Wednesdays, 3 p.m.
• Historic Resources Review Board, which meets monthly, third Tuesdays, 4 p.m.
• Historical Advisory Council, which meets quarterly
• Mechanical Board of Adjustment, Appeals and Examiners, which meets quarterly, third Thursdays, 10 a.m.
• Planning Commission, which meets monthly, second Mondays, 2 p.m. and also meets for workshops, public hearings and special meetings as required

Nominees must be registered voters in Hillsborough County. Appointments are voluntary positions and members serve without compensation.

Application forms are available in County Center, 2nd Floor, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa; by calling 813-272-5826 or online (click on County Commission, then on Application Questionnaire for County Appointments). Forms cannot be submitted electronically. Instead, a signed and completed questionnaire must be submitted in a hard-copy format.

Deadline for application is Thursday, Aug. 21. Appointments will be voted on during a Board of County Commissioners meeting in September.
